Coaches and Athletic Directors gathered with representatives of Graber Post Buildings, Inc., Wednesday, April 9th, to conduct the blind draw for the 3rd annual Graber Post Buildings Classic. The draw came at the conclusion of a tournament meeting and luncheon at the Gasthof Restaurant near Montgomery, Indiana.
First round matchups in this year’s field will feature 2 time defending champion North Daviess playing Cloverdale, Eastern-Greene squaring off against South Knox, Brownstown Central versus Washington Catholic, and Southwestern-Hanover playing Barr-Reeve.
First round games will be played on Tuesday, December 30th, with second round and Championship round games scheduled for Friday and Saturday, January 2nd and 3rd. Each of the 8 teams will play 3 games in 3 days, with game times scheduled each day at 3pm, 4:30, 6pm, and 7:30, Eastern time. All games will be played again this year at North Daviess High School, located near Odon and Elnora, Indiana.
Two of the teams in this year’s field won their respective Sectionals this past season. South Knox won its 2nd straight 2A title at North Knox, while Barr-Reeve won the Class 1A at Loogootee and was the 1A State Runner-up in 2007.
Keith Doades, Director of Marketing for Graber Post said “Our company is very excited about this year’s field. We’ve had two great tournaments and this year should be even better. The field gets more challenging every year. North Daviess has won the first two GPB Classics and returns plenty of weapons, but so does South Knox and Barr-Reeve, who are back-to-back Sectional Champions. Brownstown Central is always strong, and Eastern will be much improved. Cloverdale and Southwestern have Pat Rady Sr. and Pat Rady Jr. running their teams and Washington Catholic will be capable of scoring an upset or two. We’re looking forward to another great 3-day tournament.”
